As most brothers I am constantly seeking the "light" or truth. I myself do not take words out of context from other literature, such as the bible. The bible, also along with most masonic literature and rituals, serves a purpose where a person really must have the "zeal" to learn and eager to know more about of which they are reading. If not, then it is however easy to interpret something that really isn't there. Which leads me to this brief story. I have a friend, a good friend, who is a brother, this brother actually influenced me to ask to petition a lodge years ago. I was so happy to a part of something in my life. That placed where I was first made a mason, continues me to seek out the hidden mysteries of our wonderful fraternity. To make a long story short, this brother is now claiming that Freemasonry is a cult that worships the devil and is not praising the God we all know whom to be. Even though the only religious belief you must have is in "one" Supreme Being". I have noticed these anti-masonry books and websites but have not really given much thought. Can you please shed some light on this matter for me. How should I react to this brother now since he has chosen to go the other way. He constantly tells me that I am the one who is blind from the truth. I would like to have something solid and proven when I speak to this brother again about our beliefs and values in this world and our fraternity. Any information you may shed upon me would be greatly appreciated.
A Brother
