I was mostly reading the requirements, and not thinking that I was suggesting your dad had passed on. I hope re remains well and involved for many years to come.

| No offense taken... you had no way of knowing either way. Dad hasn't been involved for years, but when I told him of my intention to petition, he was very excited.

I don't know if we discussed this, but my dad had pushed hard to get me to join while he was alive, and I was always away on active duty and made excuses. It is one of my largest regrets. If your dad can, he should be part of your initiation, passing and raising. It will mean so very much to you and to him.

| I'll work on that. I'm sure he'd love it.

The Lewis Jewel was adopted in 2007 by Vermont, Texas, Massachusetts, Virginia, and Connecticut. It has since been adopted by the GL of Canada. I am not aware of other jurisdictions who have approved it, but I can bet it is something many might well decide to embrace. As I said earlier, I think it would be really cool if they could extend the link as far back as possible.
