I have only been a master mason for 3 years, and the threads on this board will help me understand the things before me and help me decided what I want to become as I grow in Masonry. Many heart felt thanks go out from me to the makeers and maintainers of this site.

There are many Brothers here that are looking at the future of Freemasonry through very different and sometimes radical eyes. I hope you enjoy your stay and please let us know if there is anything we can do to assist you further. | |

Many people see free speech as the right to say what I am saying and agree, and if you do otherwise, it is no longer your right to speak. I don't agree with many things said and done in the name of religion or fellowship, but if I am a truely freeborn, honorable gentleman, I must defend their right to speak. I spent over 30 years in the Navy serving this end and I hope I uphold it in the remainder of my life. Honest dissention among Mason is a promise repeated during ritual. It seems your forum gives a place to voice those feelings. I appreciate the warning, but I feel I will learn by reading and become a better man and mason for having done so, and when my day comes to be Master of my lodge, I will better understand how and why people feel they are being treated and maybe I can help makes things better. I belong to Midlothian 211, where I am Senior Steward. Since I was initiated July 18, 2005, I have been a member for just shy of 3 years. To me knowing how people feel, both good and bad helps us make wiser choices. I was finally raised October 16, 2006. I learned the parts well before I was tested. I did experience the 4-32 degree SR conferal in 2 weekends, but I still learned a lot and found much of it helpful in understanding the three Blue Lodge degrees. If there are things I could do to help with this forum, or to build links to it from our lodge web sites here in VA please don;t hesitate to ask. I work as a software developer and Continuaion of Operations Planning consultant. Again, I want to repeat my thinks for your site and for the contribution of brothers.
