new fellowcraft from the UK

I've just completed my 2nd degree and am now I think I'm looking forward to the 3rd
Anyway I just wanted to say Hi from the UK. I hope I'm welcome, I'm quite new to freemasonry so I don't know just what if any relationship there is between U.S & U.K lodges or if there is a special way of greeting a brother from another country.

Are you a woman? From the profile name it appears that you are a girl or a young lady? I will say that if you are a woman, then most of Freemasonry does not recognize the legitimacy of your degrees, and as such, most will hold no converse on the secrets of the Order with you, because all women Masons are as far as the majority of Freemasonry is concerned, including myself, are considered clandestine Masons.

Masonry aside, it's interesting to meet someone who is from the UK where there are so-called woman Masons. Greetings to you.

No I'm not a girl or a young lady the profile name I usen is the name of my old business, I was a nurseryman (gardener)

That's is great, and I'm glad you're now a FC there in the UK. How long must you wait before your next degree? I hear it is much longer than here in the USA? In the US, most men who apply go through all three degrees within six months to a year, for me, I petitioned my lodge in March of 2007, and was raised in September of 2007, so just at seven months from start to Master Mason, but I loved every minute of it, and put lots of time at lodge learning the catechisms and all necessary to pass my examinations.

Thanks for the quick reply, here in the UK the wait between degrees appears to vary from lodge to lodge it can be anything from 3 months to a year, in my case as my lodge only meets 5 times a year it will probably be another 11 months before my 3rd
At present my home lodge 'Lopes' does not have a website

It's nice to here from someone who is going through the degrees at the same time as I am. I will be turning in and recieving my FC in January. It really is good to hear from Masons from other countries
Iwas really plesed to have found The Blue Lodge it has given me the opportunity to hear from Brothers in another country and learn a little of how they operate. The ceremonies seem to be very much the same but Masonry itself seems to be held in much higher regard in the USA, over here it is sometimes looked on with suspicion by those who know little of it or who do not understand it.
