New EA and new to this forum

Hello,

I'm an EA who is working on my memory work. Doing some google searches I found this site and just joined a few minutes ago.

Rather than doing a lot of keyboard work to describe myself I will just post a link to a new personal web page that I recently set up. It's at http://ericmarsh.info

caio,

Eric

Re: New EA and new to this forum

Hi Eric,

Welcome aboard. I hope you find there are some great discussions on this board. For me me, it's great to see how discussions morph into a learning experience for the lot of us who participate. It helps me stay grounded.

When I put my thoughts or beliefs down for someone to read I have to really think about what I'm writing so it's interpreted the way I meant it to be (which,of course, can be a craps shoot). It brings to the forefront in my mind those tenets of life to which I subscribe, which in turn helps me to further myself in my quest to be a better man. I never expected this site to be such a useful medium for personal growth...

Welcome aboard! I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Bob and Jay, thanks for the welcome. Bob, that's a neat avatar. I've long had an interest in engines but jets are one that I've never really had a chance to get close to.

That's me on the left, and my son on the right. We're standing inside a PW4000-112 inch fan. It's the largest engine Pratt & Whitney makes.

I work in the Combustors, augmentors, and Nozzles group at P&W, and work specifically in the F119 and F135 Core Integrated Product teams. It's an amazing place to be!

Re: New EA and new to this forum

When I was in the Air Force on C-141's we flew to a private Air Strip of P&W in Florida and picked up one of the prototype engines for the YF-22 and flew it to Edwards AFB for test. I remember it well because when I had to sign the paperwork taking possession of the engine I asked how much it cost and was told over 33 million dollars. DOH Needless to say we made the flight to Edwards as smooth as possible.

Have you seen the F-22s? They are one frightening piece of weaponry with regard to its tracking systems AND maneuverability. Two F119s power it and supply almost 70k lbs. of thrust. iT "SUPER-CRUISES" at roughly Mach 1.7. It's an amazing fighter.

I've been a hot-rodder for many years. Here's my current toy: http://ericmarsh.info/DragBikeSite/Welcome.html. Seems that high performance aircraft have got to be a great rush, but so far I've not been able to afford one.
