When I was a kid, I was a DeMolay at Doric Lodge, in Ft.Lauderdale, FL. I currently belong to Smithtown Lodge #1127, in Smithtown (obviously), NY, where I was Initiated, Passed and Raised. I also belong to Asharokan Chapter #288, Patchogue Commandery #65, and the Valley of Rockville Centre. I currently reside in Florida, where I'm originally from but haven't associated with any local lodges, as yet.
My interests include gardening, aviation (both general and experimental), homebrewing, fishing, amateur radio (k4cvr) and reading.
Anyway, I hope this gives you an idea of who I am. I'm not real good at introductions but I hope this helps. I'm happy to meet y'all and look forward to some good conversation. Great Blessings to all, and a peaceful and prosperous new year.
Light,
Paul | |

I don't have a plane but I do have plans for a wood airframe Super Cub that I obtained through Light Miniature Aircraft, in SC. The owner, a man named Fred McCallum, also a Brother, estimates the airframe cost in materials to be somewhere in the neighborhood of not more than $4,000., USD.
I suppose the higher end of that would someone who chose to build with spruce rather than a cheaper alternative like juniper. In any event, there are several, home-built-from-plans Super Cubs flying about. Also, it's a full scale aircraft; not reduced scale like so many others.
I got a real charge out of that plane on the cover of AOPA Pilot back in the April '07 issue. The Sky Arrow 600 Sport. Wow, that thing looks like it would be a blast to fly! It reminds of the Kolb Aircraft series of planes. Anyway, sorry for being long-winded. Great Blessings!

The Mooney's are great looking planes and have a nice turn of speed, but they're a little cramped for me (I'm 6'6"). I like the Cirrus breed, and of course, one of my "dream planes", the Socata Trinidad...;^)
