I am starting to get confused because I haven't really been hearing back from them. Does anyone have any SOLID info about what is going on?

(My lodge is not a member of this organization) The GOUSA just isn't recognized by mainstream Grand Lodges in the USA. They are however, recognized, by the Grand Orient of France (the oldest Masonic body in the world) the George Washington Union (in the US), and Co-Masons in the US.
They belief in a more liberal and progressive form of Free-Masonry where each lodge is sovereign and the Grand Body is just a confederation of sovereign lodges.

Meetings have already taken place between the GO of France and the US and more scheduled over the next few months. If you try to find out much about it on the mainstream (established) internet sites you won't get much but disinformation trying to stop it from happening but it is beginning to take on a life of it's own and growing very quickly.
The Masons who started it are extremely politically savy and smart at the chess game and it's attracting "the right" kind of Masons. I'm extremely excited about it and watching with baited breath.

The next time anybody suggests this to you, simply ask them to write it down on a piece of paper, and sign it.
I feel sure that the Grand Secretary of the Grand Orient of The United States of America would be pleased to receive their opinion on the subject; would ensure that the person responsible withdraws his allegation and apologises to you; and would also arrange for him to make a donation to one of your local charities as a penance.

BTW I agree. | |
