The Age of Enlightenment in Middle Age Europe does not even hold a candle, (or three candles for that matter) to the current Age of Enlightenment in the whole world. The addition of the Internet, universal access to computers and the speed of computation make discovery today happen at a rate that is so fast we have become numb to it. We all expect change and discovery to be a daily event, just 100 years ago men could not fly, and most people in the world could not read or write.
I don't know if religion and science have merged yet, but I know they are on a collision course and the outcome will likely be a different religion and a different science when all is said and done. So my question is, for us as men made better by being masons, where does our organization stand in that outcome. in the late 1700s when freemasonry emerged from darkness into light and much of the ritual was "discovered" and in the 1800s when much of American Freemasonry grew into vogue, the world we live in this medium and in fact much of what we consider as normal was not possible.
So, my brothers, what do you think the orders of freemasonry will be like in our world of today. Anyone want to attend the first "Lodge Web conference"? I know that sounds silly, and it is a little tongue in cheek, but what will the world present to us in the days, years and decades to come.
Thanks for letting me spout but I would love to hear your opinions.
F & S,

Anybody?
It suggests the myth (ie. Jesus) might change but those pulling the strings will still be in charge...
Much of Freemasonry symbolism can be found in the bible.
What happens to the brotherhood if the bible becomes a tower of babel?

I think you have to ask yourself first where and who came up with the symbolism used in Antient Freemasonry? Just as to be able to understand the Bible you have to know where and who wrote it.
Please keep an open mind because I'm leaning towards the thought that much of the symbolism and "stories" are all just that, stories.

Many are not "Freemasons" but hold the attributes that symbolize to me how a Mason conducts himself. It does not matter to me whether I eat with the Brother before heading into lodge, I can eat just as well in front of my keyboard.
