I was told that the lodge would vote on my petition at the first stated meeting after they came out of "the dark". That meeting was this Tuesday, it's Friday afternoon as I write this. How long does it usually take for the lodge contact a candidate after the ballot on their petition? Personally, I believe that my petition was approved and they are just "dotting their Is and crossing their Ts" deciding who will be in charge of my Masonic education.
Would it be out of line if I called one of the officers tonight to ask how the vote went? I am eager to know one way or the other. Thanks in advance for any answers from brothers who have experienced this period of "not knowing."

Take it easy. A coupel of hard facts. Once the vote is completed, the top line signer on your petition should call you within about a few days, I try to call mine that evening because I know they are waiting.
No group grows without new members. You are a good man, of that I am certain, the only reason not to allow you to join is if you are of bad character or act unmasonically. The process is to read the petition once and vote on it at the nexted stated meeting, that is a two month process. If they have been out all summer, you may have had your first reading and not the vote.
My brother, it is fine, by all means call your top line signer or one of the officers. If you have the telephone number of you top line signer he would be my first call for sure. Next, if you know him call one of the wardens, finally if you can't get an answer elsewhere call the lodge master.
Even if it is not yet completed, no one will have an issue with the call.
S&F,

Brother Gregory,
I have good news! I called the Junior Warden after the dinner hour tonight and I was told that my petition was approved. He said the reason I have not yet been called is they are probably still finalizing my EA date. It may have to be moved back a day.
Thanks for your compliment on my character. I may not be a smooth ashlar yet, but I try every day to be a better man.

I guess I'm online at the right time to be the first to offer you my congratulations. I'm smiling as I write this, because I can tell from your writing just how elated you are. That's sweet.
Be happy!!!

Bob,
Thank you. I look forward to the fellowship and the work ahead. I have met several of my future lodge brethren already and they have all made me feel right at home. I just hope that I can live up to their expectations and be a credit to my lodge.
Good luck on your quest for further light. I'm sure that you would make a fine Mason and I would be honored to call you brother.
Travel light,

I have to tell you; Cliff made contact with the WM in my town and had quite the conversation with him. As it turns out, I know him fairly well. I really am blessed to know Cliff. I've never known anyone to have such a profound impact on my life after knowing them for such a short time (except, of course, my parents). That's still a trip for me.
Anyway, it'll be nice to make the journey with people I know.
Best regards and best wishes for a fruitful start to ambling down this stretch of your path. Stop and smell the roses along the way!

Congradulations! Glad it worked out and you had no more delays. Tell us when your raising is scheduled and we will attend if we can.
Best,

Best, |
Thanks for your congratulations. I will be honored to invite you and all the other Master Masons on this board to my raising. I just have to get through the the other two degrees first. . Thanks for your sage advise during the beginning of my journey.

If they phone you then you were approved by the ballot. In Masonry things are slow, but sure. I wonder what they did before phones.
Keep us posted Seeker. You too Psi Brr. | |
