He's not a Mason, but after noticing my Masonic ring, he struck up a conversation about Freemasonry. He knows a few Prince Hall Masons from Pennsylvania, men he went to college with.
After getting past the "do you guys really worship Satan?" stuff that had gotten into his head from too much Internet surfing, we discussed Masonry in an interesting and unique way, with him telling me some things he knows about the workings of Prince Hall lodges.
He also provided me with a unique perspective on what it's like to be an African-American in the South.
He lives in Georgia, right on the border with Tennessee, which is much more "integrated" than the lily-white county where I live in rural north Georgia. He asked how he could join a regular lodge in Georgia. We talked about how he'd never be allowed to do that because of the unwritten rules of racism here. This is Rubbish I would have told him to submitt a petition. As just upright and moral men we have obligations to make good men better, reguardless of race or religion.
Im in a main stream lodge Roefulkerson #299 hollywood fl, and plenty of brothers from my lodge travel around and visit through out the south and when i question them i get the same response some lodges wont allow me to sit in on a meeting and other brothers encourage me to visit reguardless of the ignorance. Enough is Enough Im a 32nd degree Mastermason & a Sir Knight and as long as im in good standing what law masonic or civil say's I cannot take part in fellowship, I think a few charters need to be pulled. No one has shined a light on the dark part of our craft and I think its time to illuminate this.

I would point him toward the Grand Orient they have a lodge in Alpheretta, GA. (Sirrius Lodge).

Bring every proof you can including your apron, dues card, Masonic passport, lapel pins and especially a letter of introduction from your Grand Lodge. Review many Masonic rites like the 5 points of Fellowship. If they really don't want you there, but don't want to appear to be racist I suspect that they will give you a Board of Inquiry. You want to show them that you know this cold. Dress to kill. Expect to be turned away and don't let it discourage you. Go on to the next lodge. Record every detail of your travel experience. Who you met, dates, times, their reaction, who turned you away, any opposition to this etc. Document everything. This is important. Take pictures of the outside of the lodge to prove you were there. Release all your travel experiences good and bad to Bro. Ken Dennis who runs On the Level e newsletter and Masonic Travels on the net.
Hell if you travel around the South documenting in detail enough you could come out with your own book! Always let us know where you are and how things are going. Bro. Dale, I think, would welcome the details of your experiences or experiment here. Details are important. Even a voice activated tape recorder is fair for everything outside of the lodge room. Accuracy is key. You are recording history and maybe even changing it!

If you get to Richmond, Virginia, please look me up and I would be happy to go with you and offer support. This sounds like a great adventure for a couple of Sir Kights to undertake.
