I have something I would like to share with you about the Masonic Leadership Course from the Philalethes Society. I am 1 lesson away from completing it and it gives you some great prospective on how to build a better lodge and what you can do to help make things work as they should.
Usually, I avoid suggesting anything that costs money, but his is not expensive and it holds a bundle of good advice.
I listed the link below and if it interest you please feel free to use it. I joined the Philaethes Society and their magazine is helpful too. https://freemasonry.org/index.php?op...1 0&Itemid=73

I don't mean to belittle the information, I'm sure it's pretty good but I just question the charging. | |

I respectfully disagree in this case. One fact I have found over the years is that when you get something for free, you tend to assign it that value. The small cost of this course, IMHO causes each of the enrollees to be committed to completing the course work.
We have in other places discussed the need to charge more for membership dues because we devalue the organization by giving it away. Is this not also true of great optional training.
The Philalethes Society is a masonic research group that provided study material to help lodges and individuals increase their knowledge. They publish a quarterly magazine and when you sign up for the course you get a years membership as part of the deal. The society updates the course work and checks the answer sheets.
Overall, I did not mean to imply anyone could not get this information from other sources and there are great books to be had on this subject. I usually avoid recommending such things as this course for the reasons I stated in my original post, but I did enjoy this course and reading the responses to my answers from the brother who was assigned to check my work.
I am a member of a couple of research groups, and this is a fit for my interests. It may not fit someone elses, and that is ok, too.
F&S,

I tried to access the link but it is either broken or blocked by our firewalls at work. How much is the charge for the course?

It is $125.00 including membership in the Philalethes Society. You will also get access to their online resources and quarterly magazine and support msonic research.
Try http://www.freemasonry.org/ to read about the society.
