Re: Prince of the Royal Secret

It depends on the schedule used by the particular Scottish Rite center that you petition.

In the USA, some Scottish Rite (southern jurisdiction) center will have a one-day class. You arrive at the center at 7am, and then watch the degree work, and by 6pm, all 29 degrees have been conferred (performed on stage), or communicated (read aloud). Once you complete the 32d degree, you are a 32d degree mason.

Some Scottish rite centers, do the degree work on two Saturdays. You arrive at the center at 7am, and the 4th-14th run until 7pm. Then you come back the next Saturday, and the 15th-32d are completed.

The Scottish rite center in Guthrie Oklahoma performs all 29 degrees on stage.

Check with your local Scottish Rite center, and ask them the schedule for their next "reunion", and if you are a Master Mason, you can obtain a petition.

I went through the one day Masters class here in Boston. It was a loooong day, but worth it.

Antient system can be as short as a month or so, depending on how fast you can learn the lessons and the next meeting is slated.

Modern system more like 2-3 years and expect to do some serious study and intellectual work.

Re: Prince of the Royal Secret

Search for Modern Lodges or Grand Orient Lodges. If you try and read Duncans Rituals then you will miss a lot. Duncan's book does come close for Antients, but it isn't really accurate at all. As for Moderns (Orient) Duncan's has no clue they are soo different.
