i am being raised july 10th after being a FC for several months. i took my time and went throught the EA and FC degree and lessons with a fine tooth comb. There are some fantastic history lesson and philosophical teachings in those 2 degrees for those that take the time to learn them.
you guys have given me a lot of things to research and think about while i read throught the posts.
thanks i look forward to being and "official" brother very soon.

You were an official member when you took your first obligation. But now you will receive further light. Congrats, and good luck.

everything i have learned and read confirms in my mind that is true. But many masons i have discussed it with don't feel that way. They give lip service to the title brother, but then tend to dismiss anyone below a MM. this is my perception and that could certainly change after being raised and gaining more light.

But once you become a MM you might be inclined to remind the brethren, that in the EA degree, ask them if they remember what the worshipful then did with them? He made them a mason and gave it strict charge to walk and act as such. And when you took you FC degree, when you knocked on the door "who caomes here? Brother John Paul Jones! your a brother no mater what. And like I say, you can remind them of that when you become a MM. So that this will not be the feeling to new brothers. It is a shame you felt this way. And Even I did at my own lodge for some time. Even after being raised there are a few brothers who do not make regular conversation with me. I believe this is due to my age, and that I am not in the Royal Arch yet. But I just keep trying to talk with them anyway. One day I will break them. Good luck brother.
