Welcome Guest to The Blue Lodge an on-line community for Freemasons and interested non-Freemasons.

The Blue Lodge is a community portal for discussing the ancient art of Freemasonry and it's future. If you are a Antient or Moderns Freemason, Knights Templar, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Shriner, Eastern Star, Prince Hall Mason or just read Dan Brown's book "The Da Vinci Code" and want to learn more about the "true" art of Freemasonry, then this is the right place for you.

You are currently viewing our community portal as a guest which gives you limited access to view most discussions, articles and access our other FREE features. Masonic Poetry

Brethren,

If you enjoy reading or writing poetry, here is a link to a wonderful website where you can read what fellow Masons have written through the years, and even submit your own work for inclusion.

http://www.masonic-poets-society.com/

Here you will find works by Van Goethe, Red Skelton, and many others through the ages, from the well known to the anonymous.

Here is one that I submitted.

Tanned Virgin Hide

The truth of the apron, which we wear with great pride
Is not found on the surface of this tanned virgin hide.
It can not be taught by words printed or spoken,
Nor can it be passed like many a token.

This badge of a Mason must be put to the test
From the day it’s presented to the day that we rest,
And when slips from our hands the tools of our trade
The apron will tell all the progress we’ve made.

Will it be sullied by our words or our deeds,
Or maybe be ragged from unscrupulous creeds?
Our hope should be when we’re laid in the ground
That our apron remained, as pure as when found.

The truth of the apron which we wear with great pride,
In the end;
Is found on the surface of this tanned virgin hide.

Fraternally,

Bro. Arthur Peterson
