It is a custom of my lodge that the JW confer first degrees SW second and WM the third.
Well last night I had the honor of conferring my first "First" degree.
I must say that if you have never done this I highly encourage it. It is an absolutely humbling and awe inspiring experience.
I would like to describe it in more detail, but the words elude me.
All but one...
Sublime
Fraternally,
Bro. Arthur

I've done 2 initiations + demonstration and they have all gone well. It's a real chance to strut your stuff and I believe it sets the foundation for other charges and degrees.
During rehearsal, I was taught the finer points of delivery by the 'ELDER" bretheren and this really did keep me in good stead.
On the night, I was a little apprehensive(I guess most JD's are) and when the candidate came in.........the show was on the road. It went perfectly.
It was one job in the Lodge that I really enjoyed and should the opportunity arise again...........would have no hesitation in conducting the ceremony again.

The first time i ever conferred a degree was a first degree and boy was i nervous..I was so afraid of drawing a blank at a critical juncture, but when it came time for my part everything came to me as it should. I felt so much better afterwards and the next time our lodge put on a first degree, i was so much more relaxed. The studying and rehearsals all paid off i guess. Thank God for the assistance from the experienced Brethren!
