Read these ignorant quotes in regards to homosexual candidates: Quote: | Originally Posted by Melek Shlomo The guys at my lodge has a nose for them. My replies were very sharply worded and will likely get me banned. But who wants to be a member of a forum where Masons judge people based on their private sex life as opposed to the tenants of the order. I have many gay friends, a close family member, and know gay Masons (yes! there are gay Masons in lodges RIGHT NOW). NONE of them fall into the above sterotypes.

It might do you well to take a look at this "brother"'s credentials. His posts list him as an IF&AM mason... which would not be " Antient" as it is unrecognized by "mainstream" Masons.
Perhaps you should have labelled the thread as Moderns' Idea of Masonic Toleration?
Peace,

Its several hours later and I'm back to clarify something. Want to make sure that you know that I'm pointing out a misconception that this guy was an " Antient" Mason, I'm not knocking "Modern" Masons.
K?
Peace,

Brother, I just read your post and tried to go look at his signature but the thread has mercifully been erased and I can't navigate that site well enough to find his profile! BUT....I would like to go on record to state that if he isn't a member of an Antient Lodge then I apologize. I don't think that International Masons are classified as ' Moderns' either though! Lemme go see if I can change the subject of this thread.

You know, I agree with you but this is a common mind set among many " Antients" that I've talked with. I just found his lack of tolerance, or maybe just the lack of class in the attacks, very disturbing.

I'm sure there are Brothers who have that attitude; fortunatley in my lodge which has a small membership, i've never heard that from the Brethren. We are a pretty progressive lodge, being racially & culturally mixed, but If i ever heard disparaging comments like that, I would find it most disturbing and unmasonic.
