I was born in Iran. My Grandfather used to work with the British as public relation officer for the oil Industry. There were 2 lodges in that city setup by the british residents and contractors. I don't have much knowledge of my grandfather's career as it was a very secretive affiliation due to obvious reasons. More so today, publicly announcing my name as a freemason will most probably bring lots of problems for family back in the old country. Hopefully one day, this will change.
