Oh man, I think this guy applied and got rejected a couple of times.
He seems to be holding a very strong grudge against masons. Let's look at this from 2 different angles:
1- As a canadian Freemason, I would see this guy as a conspiracy theorist that has read way too many tasteless books and has somehow created his own theory and brainwashed himself. Most probably he has a collection of the yellowbooks and a picture of David Icke in his office.
It's guys like him that encourage the Istanbul bombing of a masonic lodge a couple of years ago.

2- As a citizen of the world with some knowledge of Geopolitics of middle east, I would see some truth in what he's advancing....allow me to explain:

We all know that the Freemasonry was much more powerfull in the 18th century and reserved for the elites of the world. This trend even continues today outside of US and Canada where, one can not belong to a masonic lodge as easily as we are making it here. You need to be of certain status and certain reputation to be considered a candidate and even so, to advance in the ranks, you need lots of connections. It is not hard to imagine that the old governments of France and England were mostly Brethren in arms and used their relationships to advance political goals. Could it be that the colonist used out fraternity for poilitical goals? I would say YES ...very possible. Could they still be hiding behind our emblem and name to devide and conquor? I would say yes...very possible (P2 lodge is a good example). If this is the case, then they are the once that tarnished our reputation and undermind the beautifull meaning of freemasonry.

I recently found a very amusing document in the montreal Masonic grand Library. It was a letter written by a late prince of the Ghadjar dynasty in persia addressed to the Grand Lodge of England asking them to intervene and help resolving a case between his majesty and the new King of Persia hand-picked by England (pahlavi Dynasty). Along side the letter I found his masonic passport. It goes to show the power our fraternity had and has in some area's of the world. The late King of Iran (The Shah) was a 33rd degree mason and all of his surroundings were proud masons. Apparently the secret service (savak) was only accepting masons as well. that explains the crack-down on lodges after the revolution and execution of thousands in the hands of the mullah's (including my own grandfather)
