Re: Black, White Masons In South Struggle With Racial Separation

Stephen,

Don't feel bad, I have a lieutenant at my command here in Virginia who was iniated, passed and raised in Texas as an AF&AM Mason, and when he got here to Virginia, he was shocked to discover that many of the AF&AM lodges here wouldn't allow him the privelege to visit or attend their lodges, and so he decided to become a Prince Hall brother, and had to undergo somekind of 'healing' process where he reobligated himself and demitted from his mother lodge in Texas. How sad that such segregation exists in this country and I'm sad to say, that there are some ignorant Prince Hall brethren who are just as prejudiced against us AF&AM and F&AM Masons as our lodges have been against them and that's just plain sad.

We should be ashamed of ourselves if we don't respect every Brother who approaches us with a valid dues card, the word, the grip, and the ability to prove himself our Brother, regardless if he is PHA, AF&AM, F&AM, AFM or FAAM.

Sorry you had to endure prejudice from those PHA brethren, I'm sure they're just practicing the ignorance that they've been taught in their lodges there in Georgia. Be forgiving and continue on as upright man and a Mason.
