There's a bit of mystery about what it means to be a Prince Hall Mason.
It's uncommon for the general public to witness the secret rituals, symbols and pledges that make the Freemasons an exclusive society.
But the public will have a chance to take a rare peek inside Masonic life during a conference that is expected to draw more than 300 black Masons to Wichita.
The conference runs all week, but two events are open to the public, including a memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn Select, 549 S. Rock Road. Admission is free.
