He is Spiritual but his mind remains open and unclouded by dogma. With stoic-like resolve he faces the challenges of life.. His sword is raised to defend the weak from the powerful, and to preserve Human Rights, Equality, and Justice. The Trowel in his hand is used to build communities based on mutual respect and tolerance. He discovers the sublime Truth of reality in Nature and through it discovers his own Virtue." - Bro. In an age where my trestle board is online, and sometimes brothers can not meet because of the 21st century life style, I believe this. I make every meeting usually, and we don't go dark. Going dark in the summer is for farmers. This is modern masonry. However I don't agree with blue lighting, or having a book with you while returning (for prompts). I dig the old school lessons and ritual. If you cant advance in degrees then don't who cares. The exclusiveness of masonry will then be great again. Right now they take anyone, and push them to return and when they can they give them a book. And if they can't make the degree night meetings an rituals they schedule a session where they just watch. And all the sudden they are a master mason. I don't think so. These are 21st century things that are bad. But masonry has been through worse things than this, and I guess I should not get my panties in a bunch because I know the real masons from the fakers, the ring wearers, the guys who do it for networking, or a way to get something. It's then I realize that you get out of it what you put in. And thats why I know I am a real Master Mason. Because of my obligation. | |
